Loan Modifications Wineberg, Lopez and Rodriguez

June 16th, 2009

As a practicing attorney in the loan modification and foreclosure defense area, I have been inundated and shocked at the number of individuals coming to me from the non-attorney offices of Wineberg, Lopez & Rodriguez.

Apparently, many people have learned about a lawsuit filed by the Attorney General’s office against Wineberg et al. for the alleged violation of Florida’s Unfair & Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

Althought I do not know what the outcome of the case is or will be, I am of the opinion that if it is true that Wineberg is not even a real person, that they named it that way so it would sound like a law firm, that they are routinely giving legal advice which they may not be authorized to give and that they are charging upfront fees in connection with foreclosure rescue services, they will likely be fined heavily and further prevented from continuing under that framework.

In my office, we typically advise clients to call the Attorney General’s office or visit www.myflorida.com if they feel that they have been wronged by Wineberg or anyother Loan Modification Consultant.
